Silouette Saturday 1: Filigree Cards

I am starting a series using my silhouette for various projects.  Here's my first example:

The challenge with this kind of detailed filigree cut is that it as you pull the card off the mat, especially if you have a new mat, it will break down the fibers of the paper and make the paper curl.  I glue a card stock piece to the back of the card front with matte medium.  Here's a video tutorial of the card:

Paper Issues Crop

I made several layouts for the Paper Issues Crop last week.  Unfortunately, I didn't film any process videos because it was spring break, and the kids were everywhere!  At least I can share the photos here.

This first layout was for a challenge that involved using no card stock.  Papers are all from last fall's Arsenic and Lace collection.

Also from the Arsenic and Lace collection, this one was a challenge to use a stencil.  On the left side of the layout, I used a recollections stencil.  I started by inking it with brilliance white pigment.  I then shifted the stencil and inked with Fired brick.

A third from the Arsenic and Lace collection, this layout was for a challenge that asked for at least 6 patterns to be used on one layout.  This was a fun one!  The stamp in the lower right corner is Stampendous.

This was a "bling" challenge.  I used stencil paste through a Heidi Swap stencil and then inked it with some of my home made glimmer mist.  I used holographic embossing powder on the title words.

This was a very involved layout.  I used a custom designed cut from my silhouette for the title.  This is full mixed media.  The background paper was from Kaiser Craft.  I gessoed it to bring down the color a bit.  I then used matte medium to apply the die cuts.  I added gold gilato to the sun die cut and around the title letters.  I heat embossed with gold on the large letters of the title.  I submitted this one for the design team entry.

This was the last layout from the echo park Creative Agenda paper... I'm so glad it's done!  I think the challenge was a color challenge.

Papers were Carta Bella yesterday.  I submitted this one to the "large title" challenge.  Lots of silhouette cuts here (I picked up a Cameo on this day... I'm so in love!)
This used a free cut file from the Paper Issues store.  I used a kaiser craft paper behind the cut file... then I took black acrylic paint and pushed it through a recollections stencil.    Some heat embossing and stamping...  This was for a challenge to use one of their free files.

This final layout didn't get completed in time to submit to a challenge ;(... But it's fun.  The background is the giant letter svg file from their store.  I used recollections papers that I bought a couple of years ago for this one.  I laid the "negative" space of the cut file down and sprayed it with some old glimmer mist.  Then I built the layout on top of that.  I glued the letters LOVE together, painted them black, covered them with Distress crackle, and then painted over that with gold pearl x paint.  They look AWESOME

I will be making a video of these layouts... but there will be no process video.  Just a layout share vid.

Pancakes

Sour dough pancakes on Sunday morning is a tradition that goes back to my Grandma.... I've been trying to perfect them for years.  Today's pancakes weren't too bad.  Here's my layout:
